CONCEPT
A hypothetical hybrid concert that introduces the May Festival to Mount Rainier National Park.

The May Festival, with its roots in classical choral music, centuries-old ritual, and the communal celebration of spring, meets Mount Rainier National Park—a living geological monument shaped by glaciers, volcanic fire, and Indigenous cosmologies.

The story we tell is one of resonance between human voices and the voice of the Earth. The mountain becomes the stage; the choir of humanity meets the choir of the landscape. Previous May Festivals placed most of their emphasis on musical communication. Visually, they often drew inspiration from traditional church windows, using linear structures to create an elegant and refined atmosphere.

In this concept, by bringing together the national park and the May Festival, I create a cultural intersection. The natural beauty of the landscape is combined with nostalgic elements, allowing the visual language and the musical experience to merge more fluidly.
